Abstract

Placing emphasis on the successes of domestic science and technology allows us today to build a trajectory aimed at the future development of technology and society, which, in turn, allows us to see in this movement a deep educational, pedagogical and progressive context.

The purpose of the study is to study the process of formation and development of the system of national and cultural memory of the main milestones of the achievements of Soviet and Russian cosmonautics in the territory of Chuvashia through the regional prism of “places of memory” and commemorative practices. The authors paid special attention to the peculiarity of the process of broadcasting traditions and values of the veneration of the creators of “Chuvashia cosmic”, taking into account the complex interaction of Soviet and modern components.

Materials and methods. The sources on this problem were archival documents of the State Historical Archive of the Chuvash Republic, exhibits and documentary evidence of museums in Chuvashia, numerous textbooks, toponymy, publications of memoirs and memoirs, periodicals, numerous photographic documents. Among the set of research methods, in accordance with the chosen problems, historical-typological and retrospective methods of scientific work prevailed, which made it possible to reflect the diversity of forms of “places of memory” in historical perspective.

Research results and conclusions. In the course of the analysis, the main stages of commemoration were identified, the author’s classification of “places of memory” was proposed. The formation of a historical and cultural complex around the cosmic theme in Chuvashia allows us to conclude about the high degree of importance of this type of commemoration for the formation of regional identity. “Places of memory” about space achievements in Chuvashia create a kind of memorial space, which allows us to preserve and broadcast our famous heritage in the field of space exploration within the region.
