Abstract
The monograph of Alexander Georgievich Rogachev, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor of Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University, who is a specialist in the national history of the XX century, is analyzed. The monograph traces an attempt to present, summarize and systematize scientific achievements in the study of Vladimir Vysotsky’s work and to outline new perspectives in the study of this issue in historical science. Based on the latest historiographical approaches, the author analyzes the creative legacy of the Soviet poet, actor and bard Vladimir Semyonovich Vysotsky involving a complex of documentary sources characterizing the era of the 30–70s of the XX century. In total, the source database includes more than 60 poetic works and 1 prose work by Vladimir Vysotsky. The monograph uses an extensive database of historical sources. In addition, a wide range of monographic and educational materials was used. The paper also raises the problem of historical content in the writings of V.S. Vysotsky, whom the author characterizes as a poet-writer-historian. Reflecting historical events and phenomena in the work of Vladimir Vysotsky is in the spotlight of A.G. Rogachev. The poet’s works are structured by the scientist according to two main features: chronological and problematic. Within the framework of the chronological feature, the analysis of the poet’s works by the author is based on the background of reconstructed historical realities of the period when the USSR was ruled by I.V. Stalin, N.S. Khrushchev and L.I. Brezhnev. Within the framework of the problem approach, the author’s study of Vladimir Vysotsky’s works is based on analyzing the features of Soviet everyday life, mores, philosophical understanding of the time and ideas of the poet V.S. Vysotsky. In this monograph, the author departs from the conventional genre division of V.S. Vysotsky’s works into comic, social, philosophical and other songs and compositions, paying special attention to the historical narrative and reflecting the historical memory of the people in the poet’s work. This is the scientific significance of the publication under review. The book is dedicated to the memory of the author’s wife, Olga Ivanovna Rogacheva.
